TENDER FOR SUPPLY OF MECHANIZED TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT FOR DISTRIBUTION WORKS

Invitation for Tenders

1.     Tanzania Electric Supply Company has set aside funds for supply of Supply of Mechanized Tools and Equipment for Distribution Works.

2.     The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) now invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the supply of Mechanized Tools and Equipment for Distribution Works.

3.     Tendering will be conducted through International Competitive procedure specified in the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, Non Consultant Service and Disposal of Public Assets by Tender) Regulations, 2013 – Government Notice No. 446 and is open to Tenderers as defined in the Regulations.

4.     The scope of supply will involve supply of Tools and Equipment for Distribution Works categorized in three (3) Lots. Bidders are free to bid for any complete lot or combination of lot(s) of their choice. In-complete or partial bids submitted by the bidder will be rejected. The evaluation and award will be carried out either on the basis of an individual lot or a combination of lots. Discount offered for award of multiple lots will be taken into account in the bid evaluation and ultimately determining overall lowest evaluated bidder

1	4WD TRUCK MOUNTED WITH HYDRAULIC DIGGER DERRIC FOR HOLE DIGGING, POLE PLANTING/UPROOTING AND COMPACTING Each Truck to be supplied with the following:- 1. Ten (10) pieces of 9" (228.6mm) digger derrick augers 2. Ten (10) pieces of 10" (254.0mm) digger derrick augers 3. Ten (10) pieces of 14" (355.6mm) digger derrick augers 4. One piece of hydraulic compactor tool and 5. Two pieces of hydraulic pole planter/up rooter tool.
2	4WD TRUCK MOUNTED WITH AN INSULATED MOBILE 13.5 METRE ELEVATING WORK PLATFORM (BUCKET WAGON)
3	OVERHEAD LINE STRINGING MACHINE TO BE SUPPLIED WITH BASIC SPARE PARTS

5.     Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information and/or inspect the Tendering Documents at the office of the Procurement Management Unit located at Ground floor, Room No. G15, TANESCO Head office, Umeme Park Building, Ubungo, along Morogoro Road, P.O. Box 9024 Dar es Salaam. Telephone/fax (255) 22 2451145/2451160/2452172 from 09:00hrs to 16.30hrs on Mondays to Fridays inclusive with an exception of public holidays.

6.     A complete set of Tendering Document(s) in English and additional sets may be purchased by interested Tenderers on the submission of a written application to the address given under paragraph 6 above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of non-refundable fee of Tanzanian Shillings 100,000 or equivalent or equivalent Payment should either be by Cash, Banker’s Draft, or Banker’s Cheque, payable to TANESCO Ltd, P.O. Box 9024 Dar es Salaam. Bidding documents may be dispatched by courier upon payment of the non-refundable fee. The Tenderer shall pay courier charges for posting the document.  The purchaser shall resume no responsibility for late delivery of bidding documents couriered.

7.     All Tenders must be accompanied by original tender security equivalent to USD 100,000 in any freely convertible currencies in the form of bank guarantee or banker’s cheque from reputable bank.

8.     The Tenderer's designated representative is invited to attend a pre-tender meeting which, if convened, will take place at the venue and time stipulated as follows:-

9.     All tenders in one original plus three copies, properly filled in, and enclosed in plain envelopes clearly marked TENDER NO. PA/001/13/HQ/G/024 FOR SUPPLY OF MECHANIZED TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT FOR DISTRIBUTION WORKS : NOT TO BE OPENED BEFORE 10:30 or 14:30 HOURS  local time 25^th April, 2014 on  should be addressed to the SECRETARY, TANESCO TENDER BOARD, P.O. BOX 9024, DAR ES SALAAM to reach him at room No. G 15 not later than 10:30 or 14:30 HOURS local time on 25^th April, 2014. Tenders will be opened thereafter in Public and in the presence of Tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend in the opening at  Twiga Board Room located at Ground floor, TANESCO Head Offices, Umeme Park Building, Morogoro Road – Ubungo.

10.  Late Tenders, Portion of Tenders, Electronic Tenders, Tenders not received, Tenders not opened and not read out in Public at the tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
