Wahandisi TANESCO waokoa bil. 12.7
Wahandisi na Mafundi Mchundo wa Kituo cha kufua umeme kwa kutumia gesi asilia cha Ubungo Gas Plant 1, wamefanikisha ukarabati mkubwa wa mitambo ya Kituo hicho bila kutumia mkandarasi
wa nje au wa ndani na hivyo kuokoa kiasi cha TZS bil. 12.7 ambazo zingelipwa kama kaziWahandisi TANESCO waokoa bil. 12.7 hiyo ingetangazwa zabuni.
Akizungumzia mafanikio hayo Meneja wa Kituo hicho, Mhandisi Ambakisye Mbangula alisema
Wahandisi na Mafundi Mchundo hao wameweza kufanya ukarabati mkubwakatika mashne hizo za kufua umeme baada ya kufanyakazikwa saa 16,000.Kituo hicho chenye uwezo wa kufua megawati
104, kilikabidhiwa TANESCO baada ya mkandarasi kumaliza mkataba wake wa kukijenga Desemba 04, 2011.
Kumbukumbuku zinaonesha kuwa mkandarasi alishawahi kufanya ukarabati mkubwa kwa gharama ya Euro 460,150 sawa na shilingi za kitanzania1,056,981,037.2 kwa mashine moja. Hivyo kwa mashine zote 12 mkandarasi angelipwa pesa ya kitanzaia 12,683,772,446.4 sawa na euro 5,521,800.
Mhandisi Mbangula alisema kituo hicho kilizinduliwa rasmi No vemba 04, 2008 na Mheshimiwa Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania na kuanza kufua umeme kibiashara Julai 30, 2007 kwa kushirikisha Wahandisi wazawa wa TANESCO na WARTISILA. Kituo cha Ubungo (1) kilijengwa
ili kuongeza vyanzo vya kufua umeme ili kuondoa utegemezi wa maji. Kituo kinafua umeme kwa kutumia gesi asilia kutoka visiwa vya Songo Songo wilaya Kilwa Mkoani Lindi chini ya usimamizi
wa kampuni ya PAN AFRICA.
Jumla ya shilingi bilioni 99.45 zilitolewa na serikali ya Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania kwa ajili ya ujenzi wa kituo hicho na mwaka 2006 mitambo ilianza kufungwa na kampuni ya WARTSILA kutoka Finland.
“Kituo kina mashine 12, kila mashine moja inauwezo wa kufua megawati 8.73. Mashine zote zinauwezowa kufua jumla ya megawati 104. Baada ya mradi kukamilika yalifanyika majaribio katika mitamboambapo zilipatikana megwati 102 ambazo kituo kinazalisha hadi sasa ikiwa ni pungufu ya megawati2, upungufu huo unatokana na umbali kutoka usawa wa bahari,joto pamoja na unyevu unyevu” alieleza Mhandisi Mbangula.
Kiasi cha bar 50 mpaka 70 cha gesi husafirishwa kutoka Songo Songo ambapo hupunguzwa mpaka
bar 5 ambazo huingia kwenye mashine kwa ajili ya kufua umeme. Mhandisi Mbangula alisema wafanyakazi wahandisi na mafundi mchundo walipata mafunzo kwa wakati mradi unajengwa nchini Finland, Singapore na Italia.
Mkuu wa Kitengo cha Matengenezo Mhandisi Nimrod Nderingo kwa upande wake ameeleza umuhimu wa kufanya ukarabati wa mashine kwa wakati. Kwa upande wake Mkuu wa kitengo cha uendeshaji mitambo Mhandisi Abdallah Abeid alisema
Mhandisi Nimrod Nderingo akitoa maelekezo kuhusiana na mfumo wa ufuajiumeme kwa njia ya gesi unavyofanya kazi mitambo hiyo inaendeshwa kwa teknolojia ya kisasa kwa kutumia mifumo ya kompyuta na iwapo itatokea hitilafu yoyote katika mitambo huonekana katika komputa. Pia mitambo inaweza kuzimwa ama kuwashwa kwa kutumia komputa. Aliwataka watu wenye mawazo kuwa TANESCO inafanya kazi kizamani kubadili mitazamo yao kwani Shirika linaendana na teknolojia za kisasa.
Kwa mujibu wa Afisa Rasilimali Watu wa kituo hicho Bi. Getrude Chandika kuna jumla ya wafanyakazi hamsini na tano, kati yao wanaume ni arobaini na saba na wanawake nane. Wapo pia wafanyakazi wa muda maalum (STE) sita ambapo watano ni wanaume na mmoja mwanamke.

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Planning
and implementing Company’s goals and objectives so as to achieve its
vision and mission for the Transmission
Business unit. This involves directing, planning and implementation of
the power system expansion, including generation and transmission to
meet the growing demand as well as operating and maintaining the
existing power system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Direct the design of the transmission business
plans and direct implementation of the transmission business plan to meet the set targets.
· Direct
transmission procurement activities
for power system expansion and maintenance of the existing system,
involving various studies, implementation of projects & maintenance
works and, acquisition of tools & spare parts.
· Direct the preparation of demand forecast followed
by a generation plan and ensure optimal dispatch of all generation plants in accordance with the demand.
· Direct
safe, efficient and reliable operation
and maintenance of the transmission network that involves transformers,
switchgears, protection and communication equipment to ensure a high
level of availability and reliability of the power system.
· Direct
efficient maintenance of the transmission
network, which includes transmission lines and transmission substations
that involves transformers, switchgears, protection and communication
equipment to ensure a high level of availability and reliability of the
power system.
· Direct
commercial contract negotiations for
new Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Power Supply Agreements (PSA), and
gas negotiations as well as management of the contracts to ensure
minimization of costs to the company.
· Direct
the preparation, periodic updating and
implementation of the Power System Master Plan (PSMP) that shows a
long-term roadmap for the least cost power system expansion plan
covering generation and transmission.
· Direct
feasibility studies for power system
expansion projects, including environmental studies and solicitation of
financing for the projects as well as the implementation of major
projects for power system expansion, rehabilitations and maintenance.
· Direct the preparation and updating of tariff
studies and interact with the electricity regulator so as to establish cost reflective tariffs for the company.
· Direct
applied research on appropriate technologies
like alternative and renewable energy technologies, power quality
improvement and promotion of low cost electrification technologies
· Construction and maintenance of company buildings
· Maintain an appropriate organization structure
with adequate staff based on company’s needs and priorities and management of staff in the transmission business unit
· Plan and implement staff development training.
· Preparation and submission of relevant managerial
and technical reports related to the transmission business unit operations.
KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU MUST POSSES:
· A good bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent
with post graduate studies in professional business management studies as an added advantage.
· A registered Engineer.
· At least 10 years of working experience in

Direct
the distribution, marketing and sell of electricity, develop and
maintain quality of the network to
ensure customer’s maximum satisfaction in terms of quality and
affordability and provide standards and specifications guidelines to
staff with minimum risk.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Direct
planning, construction, maintenance,
extension, safety and distribution operations standards and preparation
of specifications of net work to ensure, safe, quality and reliable
supply to our customers.
· Direct
initiation and implementation of Marketing
Strategies and road map to ensure each staff is aware of its
responsibilities and time to implement the same for the long term
sustainability of the company.
· Direct
review, refinement and implementation
of revenue collection and protection strategies and monitoring
operation of five zones and 24 regions and analyze performance based on
those collection returns to ensure financial capability of the company.
· Direct research and marketing of our commodity
so as to get feedback from our customers on how they feel about our services in order to surpass customer’s satisfaction.
· Assist
preparation, implementation, review
and control of the business corporate plan and annual budget as far as
Marketing Division is concern to ensure growth of the business.
· Develop and put in place appropriate Management
information system to support electricity marketing operations activities of the company.

POSITION OBJECTIVE
To
manage the finance department by leading the effective management of
the company assets and liabilities, contribute to organization
profitability and sustainability, maintain and enhance organizational
development and growth, manage and asses financial performance develop
and maintain stakeholder relationships, ensure legal and corporate
governance compliance, in order to ensure that the
company financial functions support the business objectives of the
company
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage all financial and revenue functions
of the organization including sourcing of financial resources to ensure business growth and continuity
· Participate
in the installation and maintenance
of systems in order to ensure that management is provided with
accurate, reliable and timely financial and operation records,
information and advice to optimize management of cost and revenue.
· Lead
the development of both the operation
and capital budget, to ensure compliance with established company
parameters and timeliness and provide management with monthly
performance report (Actual vs. Budget).
· Review, constant monitor and implement credit
control procedures to ensure that the company account receivables are maintained at the lowest manageable levels
· Monthly
review of regional performance on revenue
and debtors, and prepare timely appraisal report in order to ensure the
company set KPIs on revenue are attained and management is promptly
informed on the respective business unit performance for promptly
decision.
· Review funding mechanisms, forecasts the timing
and available of funding to best manage cash flow of the company
· Implement
employee performance management process
to ensure optimum employee performance and identify and remedy
substandard performance and behavior to ensure that all finance
employees are aligned to achieve the department set KPIs.
· Develop policies and procedure to ensure compliance
with statutory, TANESCO and Board requirement for financial records and standards.
· Close monitor of the head officer treasury
functions to ensure that the company cash is adequately safeguarded.
· Monitor
and recommend payment relating to EPP,
IPP and other major expenditure relating to capital projects and
consultancy in order to ensure that the creditors are paid according to
their respective contracts.
· Participate
and manage preparation
of final accounts for accounts falling under finance department,
thorough attend Auditors and all audit queries in order to ensure that
the auditing is timely completed with a clean opinion.
KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU MUST POSSES:
· B. Com or Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent
and a professional Accounting Qualification (CPA (T))

INTRODUCTION
This
request for expression of interest (EoI) for consultancy services for
development of Conference Facility Business Plan and Design follow the
need to have Consulting firms that will undertake
development of Conference Facility’s Business Plan, Design and BoQ.
Conference facility comprises of but not limited to, administration
offices, Seminar rooms, Multi-purpose halls, Ablution block, parking

NURSE MIDWIFE - 1 Post
Reports to: Nurse Officer

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for the provision of high quality health services to staff, dependants and community at large at Kihansi Dispensary.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Provide reproductive child health services. Also nursing patients
and taking records of patient’s vital signs
· Administer medicines and drugs as prescribed by Clinical Officer
and inform clinical officer whether over doses are prescribed.
· Provide community health education and sensitization on HIV/AIDS
and individual health education to patients pertaining to their pathological significance.
· Also maintain the confidentiality of every individual case handled
at dispensary.
· Provide vaccinations and first aid services to injured patients
and maintain up to date inventory of all dispensary facilities and report in case of damage.
· Order, receive, store and dispense drugs and other pharmaceuticals
and supervise dispensary cleanness and sterilize dispensary equipments.
· Assist Clinical Officer with examination and treatments of diseases
· Compiling weekly and monthly reports needed by DMO and Welfare
Officer/Human Resources Officer.
· Provide professional care for patients, recovery, physical and
well being.
· Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor.

Facilitate strategic reservoir regulation to Optimize Grid contribution
of Kihansi and Uwemba Units.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Monitor
and review operational levels of various
Power Plant installations in view of maximizing Plant availability of
Generating units. These include monitoring proper interaction of
Operators with Operator station, Station computers, Main control system,
Data communication system, SCADA system and other
installations.
· Timely report and interact with the Maintenance
department for any discrepancy occurrences on the grid/generator sets.
· Prepare
and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly
and annual reports on operation activities of Kihansi and Uwemba Units.
This should include breakdowns, power dispatch and Hydrological
information. Data analysis must be made to facilitate generation
forecast and improvement of maintenance frequencies.
· Facilitate
operational link between Kihansi and
SCADA focused on optimal utilization of Kihansi Generating sets. These
include advice operating on Outage requests and timely delivery of
necessary information.
· Ensure
company safety, rules and regulations
are adhered to at all the times when carrying out operation activities.
These include proper switching, work permits to ensure the safety of
personnel and security of the company equipment.

2. ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER – 1 Post
Reports to: Principal Maintenance Engineer

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible
for monitoring condition of the dam and power plant, as well as civil
repair works for the staff
houses and offices. Also advice and provide/facilitate education and
training on all environmental and social matters in order to support
other Kihansi Hydropower Project activities and ensure that activities
are carried out in an environmentally and sustainable
manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for preparing and evaluating tender
documents for civil works at the plant and monitoring water levels in the dam and produce report for Plant Manager
· To monitor condition of the trail race tunnel
by recording dates and performing calculations
· To maintain power house and dam and repair offices
and staff residential houses/buildings
· To maintain fresh water supply for domestic use
and initiate and supervise all civil works at the plant
· Provide
technical and professional support in the implementation of
environmental mitigative and administer environmental monitoring. Ensure
environmental matters are timely and properly addressed to avoid
tarnishing the company’s image.
· Supervise
environmental and social activities
at the Plant. This includes proper implementation of EMP activities
which include regular maintenance of artificial sprinkler and
infrastrure built in the gorge. Also ensure proper management of the
catchment area and implementation of water right.
· Establish
and maintain good working relationship
with relevant government departments, other institutions and
organizations outside the company on environmental and social matters.
· Enhance the company’s environmental performance,
taking into account technical and scientific developments as well as rendering of satisfactory services to customers.
· Contribute to the transfer of environmentally
sound technology and management methods throughout the industrial and public sectors.
· Working
closely with head office environmental
department in developing establishment and implementation of the
environmental management system i.e. policy, guidelines and programs of
the company’s undertakings in collaboration with the relevant business
units in the company as well as the relevant Government
Authorities.
· Prepare
and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly,
and annual reports on environmental and social activities related to
the area of your jurisdiction. Also submit weekly, monthly, quarterly
and annual reports in regard to Hydrological data as captured from the
dam. Also budget requirements for environmental
and social activities.
· Ensure
company safety rules and regulations are
adhered to all the time when carrying out your activities. The priority
must be the safety of personnel and security of the company equipment.
