TENDER NO. PA/001/2014/NZN/W/007 FOR PREQUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS FOR CIVIL WORKS AT KILIMANJARO, TANGA, MANYARA ARUSHA REGIONS AND PANGANI HYDRO SYSTEMS.

1.        The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited using it own funds need to pre qualify firms/contractors  who  will be contacted to perform civil works in Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Arusha Regions and Pangani Hydro Systems  whenever need arises for a period for maximum period of three years upon successfully performance.

2. The Company intends to identify competent contractors who will be invited to submit their bids as when need arises to carry out civil works in Tanga, Kilimanjaro,Manyara Arusha Regions and Pangani Hydro Systems.

3. The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited invites competent and reputable firms registered in Class Seven and above to submit prequalification applications for civil works.

4. Pre-qualification will be conducted through the procedures specified in Regulation 119 of the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, Non-Consultant Services and Disposal of Public Assets by Tender) Regulations, 2013 – Government Notice 446 of 20^th December, 2013 and is open to all firms and voluntarily formed joint ventures.

5. The criteria for the Prequalification shall focus on the assessment of the firms’ eligibility, execution of similar contracts, availability of facilities, financial soundness, litigation history and references.

6. Interested applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification documents at the Zonal Procurement Specialist Office, Located at TANESCO Regional Office Building, 5^th Floor, Room No. 503/505 , from 08:00hrs to 13:00hrs and from 14:00hrs to 16:30hrs Monday to Friday inclusive except on Public Holidays.

7. A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interested applicants and voluntarily formed joint ventures on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of nonrefundable fee of TZS: 50,000.00 or equivalent amount in freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be by cash, banker’s cheque or bank draft payable to TANESCO Ltd, P.O. Box 9024 Dar es Salaam.

8. Applications for prequalification in original plus three copies should be submitted in sealed envelopes, clearly marked TENDER No. PA/001/2014/NZN/W/007 for Prequalification of CONTRACTORS FOR CIVIL WORKS NOT TO BE OPENED BEFORE 14:30 HOURS 20^th October, 2014 should be addressed to the SECRETARY ZONAL TENDER BOARD P.O. BOX 5048 Tanga to reach him at room No. 505 not later than 20^th October, 2014 at 14.30hrs local time.

9. Bids will be opened on the closing date, immediately after 14.30 hours in the meeting room No. 507 located at 5^th floor at TANESCO Tanga Regional office building, in presence of bidders or their representative who choose to attend.
