Invitation for Pre-qualification

1. This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this service that appeared in the Daily News Paper of 2^nd January, 2015.

2. The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited has set aside funds towards the cost of Prequalification of Companies for Provision of Debt Collection Activities and Auctioning Services, and it intends to apply the funds to payments under the contract for Provision of Debt Collection Activities and Auctioning Services.

3. The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited   intends to pre-qualify Applicants for Provision of Debt Collection Activities and Auctioning Services. It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in March, 2015.

4. Pre-qualification will be conducted through the procedures specified in the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, Non-Consultant Services and Disposal of Public Assets by Tender) Regulations– Government Notice 446 of 2013, and is open to all firms.

5. The Applicants should be capable of undertaking Debt Collection Activities and Auctioning Services. Please indicate clearly among the two services that you wish to be applying for and or both.

6. Interested applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the pre-qualification documents at the office of the Procurement Management Unit located at Ground floor, Room No. G15, TANESCO Head office, Umeme Park Building, Ubungo, along Morogoro Road, P.O. Box 9024 Dar es Salaam. Telephone/fax (255) 22 2451145/2451160/2452172 from 09:00hrs to 16.30hrs on Mondays to Fridays inclusive with an exception of public holidays. A complete set of pre-qualification documents in English may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of TZS 50,000 or in any freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be cash, bank draft or bankers cheque to TANESCO Ltd. P.O. Box 9024 Dar es Salaam.

7. Applications for pre-qualification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the Secretary, TANESCO Tender Board, P.o. Box 9024, Dar es Salaam, Room No. G 15, on or before 09^th March, 2015 at or before 14.30 hours local time, and be clearly marked “Application to Pre-qualify for Provision of Debt Collection Activities and Auctioning Services (NOT TO BE OPENED BEFORE 09^th March, 2015 AT 14.30 HRS).”

8.       The deadline for submission of application for pre – qualification is on 09^th March, 2015 at 14:30 hrs.  Application to pre – qualify will be opened in public and in the presence of Applicants representatives who choose to attend in the opening at the TANESCO Head Office-Umeme Park Building, Ubungo-Morogoro Road, Ground Floor, in TANESCO Twiga Board Room immediately after 14.30hours local time on 09^th March, 2015.

9. Post Qualification shall be conducted to check compliance with the relevant requirements prior to Invitation for Bid.
