Invitation for Tenders
1. The Tanzania Electric Supply
Company Limited has set aside funds for Construction of Proposed Housing Services, Office Accommodation and Store cum Workshop at Somanga Power Station Lindi Region.
2. The Tanzania
Electric Supply Company Limited now invites sealed tenders from eligible Contractors registered in class V and above
for
Construction of Proposed Housing Services, Office Accommodation and Store cum Workshop at Somanga Power Station Lindi Region.
3. You
may obtain further information
from and inspect the Tendering Documents at the office of the
Procurement Management Unit located at Ground floor, Room No. G15,
TANESCO Head office, Umeme Park Building, Ubungo, P.O. Box 9024 Dar es
Salaam.
Telephone/fax (255) 22 2451145/2452172 from 09:00hrs to 16.30hrs on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on public holidays.
4. Tendering
will be conducted through National Competitive Tendering procedures
specified in the Public Procurement with Exclusive Preference (Works,
Non Consultant and Disposal of Public Assets by Tender) Regulations,
2005 – Government Notice No. 97 and is open to all
Tenderers as defined in the Regulations.
5. A
complete
set of Tendering Document(s) in English and additional sets may be
purchased by interested Tenderers upon submission of a written
application to the address given under paragraph 3 above and upon
payment of a non-refundable fee of TZS: 100,000.00 or its equivalent.
Payment should either be by Cash, Banker’s Draft, or Banker’s Cheque,
payable to TANESCO Ltd. P.O. Box 9024 Dar es Salaam.
6. The Tender is categorized in lot as shown hereunder,
whereby Evaluation and Award will be given on the basis of the lowest evaluated bid per lot.
Lot 1: Construction
of Proposed Office Building and Store cum Workshop Building
Lot 2: Construction of Proposed Multipurpose Hall Building, Supermarket, Rest and Guest House
Lot
3: Construction of Proposed Staff House Type I (Manager’s House and his
Servant Quarter), Staff House Type II (Senior Staff) and Staff House
Type III (Junior Staff)
Lot
4: Construction of Proposed Nursery School Building, Dispensary
Building, Gate House Building, Power House Building and Water Tank
Lot 5: Proposed Installation of Building Services
7. All Tenders must be accompanied by
original tender security equivalent to 2% of the contract value
in a freely convertible currency in the form of bank guarantee of
banker’s cheque from a reputable bank.
8. All tenders, one original plus three copies, properly
filled in, and enclosed in plain envelopes clearly marked
“TENDER NO. PA/001/13/HQ/W/052 FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PROPOSED HOUSING
SERVICES, OFFICE ACCOMODATION AND STORE CUM WORKSHOP AT SOMANGA POWER
STATION IN LINDI REGION”. should be addressed to the SECRETARY, TANESCO TENDER BOARD P.O. BOX 9024, DAR ES SALAAM
TANZANIA to reach him at room No. G 15 not later than 11th October, 2013” at or before 14.30hrs local time.
Tenders will be opened thereafter in public and
in the presence of Tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend in
the opening at the Twiga Board Room located at Ground floor, TANESCO
Head Offices, Umeme Park Building, Morogoro Road – Ubungo.
9. It
is strongly recommended to attend site visit
to obtain all information that may be necessary for preparing the
tender and entering into a contract. The site visit will be held on 1st October, 2013 under the arrangement of Regional Manager-Lindi Region. The costs of visiting the Site shall
be at the Tenderer’s own expense. The site visit will be conducted at TANESCO in Lindi Region.
10. Late
Tenders, Portion of Tenders, Electronic Tenders,
Tenders not received, Tenders not opened and not read out in public at
the tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation
irrespective of the circumstances.
