PROVISION FOR LIVE LINE MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGY TRAINING

1.0 Introduction
The
Company has set aside some funds to facilitate training to its staff on live
line maintenance services so as to save revenue lost during deadline
maintenance, the Department of Distribution and Customer Services has already
identified Engineers, Technicians and Artisans from Dar es Salaam and Coast
Zone that will be involved in live line maintenance activities and such staff
will need to be trained to enhance their performance.
2.0
Objective of the assignment
The Objective of the course should
enable participants to overcome the down time of its distribution networks
during maintenance.
3.0
Scope
of assignment
The
Consultant will train the 30 staff on live line works including 33kV voltage
level and shall be required to:-
1.
Develop training
materials.
2.
Train 30 staff on all
live works methods and techniques theoretically.
3.
Train all 30 staff
practically on Hot Stick and insulation gloves live line works methods.
4.
Develop a live line
working manual on Overhead Lines ‘The Hot Stick Method’.
4.0 TANESCO
now invites eligible firms to show their interest to conduct the exercise for Live
Line maintenance technology training under framework contract.
5.0 Selection
A successful Consulting firm will be selected
in accordance with the Guidelines of
Selection and Employment of Consultants stipulated by Public Procurement Act
No.7 of 2011 Public Procurement
(Selection and Employment of
Consultants) G.N. No. 446.
Selection
will be conducted through National Competitive method and Quality and Cost
based selection (QCBS) procedures
specified in the Public Procurement Regulations.

09.00 – 12.30 hours and 14.00 – 16.30 hours local time (Monday to Friday)

Expression
of interest (One (1) Original and Five
(5) copies) with the

above before or at 10.30 hours local
time on 18th
November, 2016.
No proposals are required to be submitted at
this stage. On the basis of obtained information from eligible interested
Consulting firm, TANESCO will
prepare a shortlist of Consulting firm who will be invited through a Letter of
Invitation including detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) to submit Request for
Technical and Financial Proposals (RFP).
Interested Consulting firm must provide
information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services by
submitting Consulting firm profile, description of similar assignments,
experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among
staff, etc. Consulting firm may associate to enhance their qualifications.

The Documents for Expression of Interest
submitted to the above address shall be opened publicly in TANESCO Twiga Board
Room immediately after 10.30 hours local
time 18th
November, 2016.
Late submission of
the documents, portion of documents, electronic documents, and documents not
received, documents not opened at the opening ceremony shall not be accepted
for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
