CIVIL TECHNICIAN – 1 POST
REPORTS TO:  CIVIL ENGINEER

POSITION OBJECTIVE
To ensure that all scheduled activities related to civil works at the plant are carried out effectively and efficiently.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

·         Prepare weekly maintenance Schedules and depict them on notice board for subordinates to realize the works has to execute daily.
·         Ensure preventive maintenance of all civil structure is executed as per schedule and that emergency breakdowns are attended timely.
·         Make sure that maintenance record sheets are filled daily after execution of maintenance (both PM & Emergency breakdowns) works.
·         Ensure availability of adequate tools for civil maintenance.
·         Initiate RTPs and SIVs for regular needs of materials and spare parts. Also you will be responsible to initiate appropriate works orders (CWOs and R& M) as per approved budgets and forward them for approval and authorization. .
·         Ensure high standard of cleanliness and good appearance of all plant buildings, i.e  all plant offices, power house, staff houses and other related surroundings.
·         Observe safety regulations when carrying out maintenance duties so as to avoid injuries or fatal accidents.

Key Knowledge, Experience and Skills you must posses
  • Form IV or VI secondary  Certificate
  • Holder of FTC or Ordinary Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Transcript or Examination Result not accepted.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience 
  • Computer  literacy is  a must

LIGHT CURRENT ARTISAN 1POST
REPORTS TO:  ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN


POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for execution all planned maintenance works of Telecommunication system in plants, grid, distribution substations and offices, with objective of ensuring smooth operational communication within plant.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

·         Execute properly preventive maintenance of electronics/telecommunication equipments in a planned time to ensure emergence breakdown are avoided.
·         Respond promptly to emergence calls during emergency break downs to ensure restoration of fault equipment within minimum time possible.

·         Participate in performing commissioning of new installations as per required standards to ensure proper system operations.
·         Keep maintenance records, equipment status updating and observing reporting system to ensure a good data base and communication system.
·         Observe safety regulations and working procedures to ensure accidents to people and equipment are avoided.

Key Knowledge, Experience and Skills you must posses

  • Form IV or VI Secondary Certificate
  • Holder of Trade Test in electronics from VETA or any   recognized institution.
  • Transcript or Examination Result not accepted.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience

POSITION OBJECTIVE
To be in charge of the Estate Development Section undertaking all types of building constructions and civil works from inception, designing, construction, commissioning up to project close out. 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·         To prepare feasibility studies and designs, implementation of new construction projects of buildings and civil engineering infrastructure for the Company.
·           To prepare specifications, preambles, Bills of Quantities, and drawings and submitting to Procurement Management Unit (PMU) to form part of tendering documents.
·           To be responsible for the supervision and monitoring of civil and building projects implemented by the division through Consultants and Contractors, preparation of regular project performance/accomplishment reports as well as supervision of subordinates.
·           To check/evaluate certificates of payments of Consultants and Contractors for certification by Manager Estates before submission of the same to the Directorate of Finance to effect payments.
·           To ensure that “As built in” drawings are correctly prepared by Consultants and Contractors and are kept in safe custody for future references by the Company.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:                         
  • A good bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from recognized higher learning Institutions
  • Possess sufficient Computer skills in AutoCAD 2D drafting, Pro con excel spreadsheet for contemporary reinforced concrete design and Master Series Structural design
  • Masters/Postgraduate degree in Engineering Management (Project Management or Construction Management) will be an added advantage
  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (ERB)
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in the relevant field.
SENIOR ENGINEER GRID OPERATIONS      -     1   POST

To supervise the operation of the grid power system to ensure that the interconnected grid network is run securely according to company regulations

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
·         In charge of the Control room, supervising Operations Control Engineers
·         To coordinate all power system operations management activities.
·         To ensure correctness of switching procedures such that the activities in the interconnected power system adhere to safety procedures as per OHS Policy.
·         To prepare operations reports: Daily System Operation Report (DOR), weekly/Monthly reports, Transfer Unit, Quarterly, Annual and other statistical reports reflect professional and standards and are submitted in time.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Holder of BSc. In Electrical Engineering/ Electrical Power Engineering or Equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
  • Must be registered as Professional Engineer by Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Tanzania

SENIOR ENGINEER POWER QUALITY INFRASTRUCTURE – 1 POST
REPORTING TO: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER POWER QUALITY

POSITION OBJECTIVE
To manage Power Quality monitoring system Infrastructure repair, maintenance and plan for extension including data cleansing and storage.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Plan for connection of PQ monitoring equipment to record PQ measurements and short-term trends of power conditions (voltage, current, harmonics, power factor, transients, etc.) at the PCC.
  • Carry out repair and maintenance of power quality equipment located in grid substations, Primary substations or potential customer or specific power system equipment.
  • To prepare weekly, monthly and Quarterly reports showing the status of power 
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
·           Holder of BSc. In Electrical/Power system Engineering Or equivalent from recognized University/College

SENIOR POWER SYSTEM ANALYST (ENGINEER) – 1 POST
REPORTING TO: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER POWER QUALITY

POSITION OBJECTIVE
To carry out Real Time Power System Analysis by using the EMS Based power system analysis tools and monitoring, managing, and analysing power system anomalies.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Perform analysis of grid conditions from the measured power system data and their related impacts to connected equipment.
  • Preparation of reports detailing power quality conditions in the grid network and ensure PQ data keeping. 
  • To provide EMS System technical support for real time power system application tools and modeling
  • To prepare weekly, monthly and Quarterly reports.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Holder of BSc. in Electrical /Power system engineering or equivalent from recognized University/College

SENIOR ENGINEER – SCADA/EMS HARDWARE – 1 POST
REPORTING TO: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER SCADA/EMS

POSITION OBJECTIVE
To provide SCADA/EMS System Hardware technical support and maintenance for SCADA/EMS System.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • To ensure regular preventive maintenance and repair is being carried out as per maintenance schedules for SCADA/EMS System and associated systems/ equipment
  • To actively participated in SCADA/EMS System expansion and upgrading works following extension and upgrades of the grid system and SCADA/EMS System.
  • Ensure SCADA/EMS Data transmission is as per requirement and Interfacing of stations and equipment are in order.
·          To prepare daily, weekly, monthly, Quarterly and annual reports showing the status of all systems.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
·         Holder of BSc. In Electrical Engineering/Telecommunication Engineering/Computer System & Information Technology Engineering Or equivalent from recognized University/College

SENIOR ENGINEER SUBSTATION S – 1 POST
REPORTING TO: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER SUBSTATIONS

POSITION OBJECTIVE
To Assist the Principal Engineer Substation on coordinating ongoing activities in all grid substations in accordance with the current/existing grid code.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
·         To maintain continuity and security of primary and secondary supplies in the TANESCO grid system, supervise all substation activities and ensure all facilities are in god working conditions.
·         To control and sanction the issuance and cancellation of Permits to work in the respective substations while Adhering to OHS policy
·         To prepare and submit substation daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
·         Record and maintain S/S SLD and other relevant documents.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

SYSTEM OPERATORS  – 10 POSTS

JOB PURPOSE
Grid power System monitoring to ensure that continuous and reliable flows of electric power supply to interconnections.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
·        Collect all necessary initial technical data in the daily log sheets and defect register book.
·        To maintain continuity and security of primary and secondary supplies at grid Substation.
·        To maintain Substation operation management, and make follow up of system voltage so that it should vary within acceptable operation limits
·        To maintain proper communication, and carryout proper switching of feeders equipment and lines while adhering to Occupations, Health and Safety (OHS) Policy.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
·           Holder of certificate of secondary education (“O” Level)
·           Trade Test holders in Electrical Installation

POST:   POWER QUALITY ENGINEER - 1 POST

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Manage and maintain the office of the Manager to ensure smooth operations that reflects the business objective of the Department.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Specifically you will be responsible for ensuring that you:
  • Type and draft various documents accurately on time and in accordance with the specific needs for which the document is required
  • Effective maintenance of electronic and manual filing systems and updated index to ensure proper maintenance of records and easy retrieval of documents
  • Receive and dispatch all department correspondence and documents
